Lesson 5- discussion- Abnormal Psychology

Q For this Discussion Board activity, you are to look at the specific symptoms on page 511 of ADHD and envision how they could actually be an asset. Are there certain occupations in which adults with ADHD might actually function better than those without ADHD? Are there other areas in which someone with ADHD might have an advantage over someone without ADHD? Your assignment is to post one example of a situation or type of functioning in which the symptoms of ADHD might actually be viewed to be useful and to be a strength. Be specific about your example (for example, if you’re referring to an occupation, be specific about exactly to what job you are referring), identify the specific symptoms that could be helpful, and explain why those symptoms could be an asset in that situation. Then review the posts made by your classmates, and comment on at least one post suggesting either another reason the same symptom identified by your classmate could actually be a strength in that situation, or suggest another symptom of ADHD that could also be an asset in the identified situation.
